Cobra Biologics’ highly experienced joint management team have significant expertise in the area of biopharmaceutical drug development and have worked for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies themselves making them sensitive to the unprecedented time and cost demands placed upon clients to obtain high quality products for preclinical and clinical supply.
 

Peter Coleman, FCMA, MBA, CEO

Prior to his appointment as CEO in May 2011, Peter was Finance Director at Keele and Recipharm Ltd, Ashton. Peter was also Finance Director of Cobra Biomanufacturing Plc up to its acquisition by Recipharm in 2010, and he has been at the Keele facility for over 8 years. Prior to Cobra he was employed in a variety of senior financial and corporate development roles. Peter qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in 1996 and in 2001 was awarded an MBA with distinction jointly from the Manchester Business School and the University of Wales.


Tracey Pughe, ACMA, MBA, Head of Finance

Tracey joined RecipharmCobra in 2002 as Financial Controller, and later Head of Planning and Commercial Finance. Prior to taking the position of Head of Finance at Keele and Ashton, Tracey was Director of Commercial Services. Tracey’s previous experience includes working within the food industry for Northern Foods, and the IT industry for ICL Sorbus Ltd.


Julian Hanak, MSc. Commercial Director

Julian previously worked at the Keele facility for 11 years progressing from Senior Scientist to Director of Production. In 2005 Julian joined Renovo where he attained additional senior management and commercial experience as Senior Vice President of Development. One of Julian’s key responsibilities was the oversight of CMO’s and Julian brings a wealth of industry knowledge and experience back to Cobra. Julian also held positions at the National Institute for Medical Research, Bio Products Laboratory Ltd, and AstraZeneca.


Lorraine Borland, BSc., Director, Operations

Lorraine is Director of Operations at RCB’s Keele site. She has over 20 years experience in the biotechnology industry, 17 years in contract cGMP manufacturing of mammalian, bacterial and viral products for phase I/II clinical trials. Lorraine has previously held positions at Q-One Biotech Ltd, BioReliance and Invitrogen.


Ulrika Ljungkvist, MSc. Site Manager, Södertalje

Ulrika Ljungkvist has more than 16 years of experience in API manufacturing, both with commercial (small molecules) and development manufacturing (biologics) for AstraZeneca and now RecipharmCobra Biologics in Sweden. Ulrika joined Astra in 1995 and transferred to Recipharm Biologics Södertalje in 2009 as Director Operations. Ulrika became Site Manager in 2010. Ulrika holds a M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology.


Sheena Pumford CIPD, HR Manager

After completing a management training course with a large retail organization, Sheena was seconded to a training role with the responsibility for the training of over 100 staff and management. In 1997 Sheena joined Therexsys (now RecipharmCobra Biologics Ltd) to set up a Personnel Department providing advice to staff and management on a wide range of personnel and training issues. She has spent the last fourteen years in the role and during this time has completed an NVQ Level 4 in Personnel Management.
